PERFORMANCE RECORD OF ST. JOSEPH'S COLLEGE OMBACHI

 

Ombaci has consistently been a centre of hard work and excellence in all spheres of education in northern Uganda and indeed the whole country.

ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE

By the mid 1970s Ombaci had already distinguished itself as a centre of academic excellence. Thus, for instance, in 1979 it produced the best student in the EACE. However the climax of academic performance was reached in the 1980s, when Ombaci consistently produced at least the best and/or some of the best 10 students in Uganda (referred to as “Uganda Boys” or “Radio Candidates” in the UCE for five years running.

However Ombaci experienced a decline in performance in the 1990s due to various reasons, and is now working on the road to recovering its glory.

SPORTS

Ombaci has traditionally been a footballing school, partly building on the Italian tradition… A tabulation of major football and athletics trophies won together with photos can suffice
